There is one quite interesting entry in the eci.ini (and odcs.ini) file and it is the
[Host Servername]

entry, the servername is the name of your server. when eComIntegrate (or odcs) is started it will try to find this entry and complain if it is not there. Trouble with this complaint is that you will not see it in the eventlog. (see No Errors In Eventlog)

This happens when someone has renamed the server after the software is installed. Find this entry and fix the hostname and you should be able to proceed. (no reinstallation is neccesary). The eCIMail Tool can also help a bit in finding this problem.

You can use this trick to run two servers with exact the same file tree, create a host section for both server names and point them to different licence key files. You must rename every licence file to eciServername.key and point the settings per server to the appropriate file. (always keep copies of the eci.ini and eci.key files nearby so you can quickly restore the original configuration). If it runs once, it will work afterwards.
