Rule of tunb : when you get errors from anything else than stuff you actually use, you can safely stop it.

On windows there are some services running (deamons on unix) some of those are actually quite helpful (printmanager comes to mind) but some are not usefull.

Since 7.x Optio has decided that we can not live without the Optio Integration Server?. In my opinion this is an ill conceivet tool that opens just an extra entry port for hackers. Some versons can be helpfull because they allow you to put files on the server, add/remove ports and even lets you change the configuration file. Optio has in the latest version removed all the helpfull bits and only left the file transfer part. Becides it is extreemly slow, i can think of about 3 other ways to do it better with a default windows installation.

I thus strongly advice you to Stop the Optio IS? service and the tools it also install with it (mysql is a really good database product, but if you did not knowingly install it before eComInegrate did, you can safely stop it.)

The other errors you might get in the eventlog are most of the time the fatal errors of eComIntegrate, make sure you take not of those as it means you have just lost a document
